Sicko
The latest Michael Moore installment does not disappoint. The average American has a lot to learn from this movie. The health care in our country is appalling and the insurance companies are fully to blame by my measure of it all.
As I am married to a British citizen I already knew much of what was portrayed in this well laid out film. However there is a lot to be said about the other countries that I was at least partially unaware of. I like to think a fair amount of U.S. citizens know just how bad our health care system has become but when compared to country’s that you just out right expect to have a lesser system in place such as Cuba only to find they are a few levels ABOVE us?!? Blood Diamond
Leonardo DiCaprio truly became Danny Archer in this jaw dropping, I can’t believe that just happened film. His character is incredibly versatile. He spoke in several different accents and dialects as he went from one situation to the next and made each shine true. After a few minutes I can honestly say I forgot he was the star that he is and saw him as the character he played, an African man. I have to give him a 10/10 on this one and I am not his biggest fan by any means. Read more

Will Smith stars in his most serious roll to date, accompanied by the debut of his biological son Jaden Smith. Jaden is quiet the little actor and I am sure we will be seeing more of him. Although I have to admit I much prefer Smith in his more typical heroically amusing rolls, I don’t think anyone could have done a better job than he did here. He played a real dad and husband that by end of film was a true hero, without all the flashy spaceships and tailored suites.
This film was based on a true story and successfully pulls on your heart strings. I hadn’t seen so much as a trailer when I sat down to watch this film and was in fact clueless as to what it was about prior to watching it… Read more
Music and Lyrics
Hugh Grant effortlessly brought sexy back in this one of a kind laugh riot! This movie will give you something to joke about at the water cooler for days!
The 80’s pop band the entire film is based around was so ingeniously crafted that you almost remember it like you were there (in a good way, I promise).
Drew Barrymore co-stars with Grant in such a superb match up that you find yourself engulfed in their story. I was briefly saddened at times by mistakes made be either character and then lifted high by the gravity of gestures made to redeem them. Barrymore brings her usual girl next door with just a smidge of crazy to make it interesting….. Read more
